President's Chat Sunday at 5 PM

This Sunday our church's new president is hosting a President's Chat where she and board leaders invite members to join together on zoom to catch up.

The purpose of the call is first to check in with everyone to see how you are all doing. Also, Annabel will share her vision for the church's future in her president's role. All are invited.

Annual Meeting September 8, 2021 from 4-6 PM
On September 8th the church will host our annual membership meeting. We will host it both online and at the church. This is a members-only meeting where we elect officers and review the vision and finances for the coming year. Members who meet in person will go to dinner afterward.

I'll be sending out a new zoom link for the fall.

New book "Believe in People" features the political work of Rev. Tafel.

If you are progressive politically you likely have a strong allergy to Charles Koch for his
long-time work within the Republican Party. The progressive left points to the Koch Brothers the same way the right points to George Soros as funders of the opposition.

Charles Koch and the President of Stand Together, Brian Hooks, co-wrote a book this past year that argues politics is not the best venue to achieve change. It focuses on case studies of social entrepreneurs and activists who took a stand and created change. I was honored to be included as one of those people in this book. The book features a photograph of me testifying before Congress for AIDS funding in the 1990's.

Today the Koch Foundation funds Stand Together an amazing network of social ventures.

Heal Our Divides"
The book "How to Heal Our Divides: A Practical Guide" has been published with a short chapter by Rev. Tafel offering a strategy for the future of the church. This chapter focuses on our church's effort to teach spiritual entrepreneurship.
